Racism and the ideology of Slavery from Aristotle to George Bush / Michael Parenti.

Michael Parenti, author and political analyst, speaks about the core belief systems which make enslavement possible. He begins by defining how racism defines ethnic groups as biologically and morally inferior. The roots to such belief systems, he argues, lie in tribalism, classism, and competition among peoples.

Researcher and writer Chris Lang presents information about American financial institutions which he has uncovered while investigating Texas Savings and Loan failures. He begins by pointing out how the media seems to ignore financial crisis in election years, only investigating banking scandals in odd years.

Live readings by poet, activist and essayist Audre Lorde (1934 - 1992) from her non-fiction work, The Cancer Journals (Aunt Lute Books, 1980). She starts with personal readings in which she shares her experiences with breast cancer. She warns of the dangers of silence and denial, and how to take action by becoming visible to one another about the issue.

A Black woman author reflects / Ntozake Shange ; interviewed by Marilyn Pittman.

Poet and playwright Ntozake Shange, winner of the Obie for her drama "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enough," discusses her work and reads selections. Shange evaluates the impact of her play upon New York theater, changes in her work, and the effect of having a child in her life.

The Impending banking crisis / Steven Pizzo ; interviewed by Dennis Bernstein.

Steven Pizzo, author of "Inside Job," discusses the similarities between the Savings and Loan crisis of the late 80's and the impending Banking crisis of the 1990's. Pizzo begins by tracing how the S & L lobby fought for deregulation, and how that deregulation lead to the collapse of that system.
