Lakota Harden grew up in an activist family of the Minnecoujou-Yankton Lakota and Winnebago tribes on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota. A single mother of two, she currently works with the American Indian Movement on land rights and sovereignty issues, and is part of the multi-cultural alliance building organization called New Bridges.
