Bill Northwood introduces the first press conference President Richard Nixon had given in 19 weeks on December 10, 1970, from a feed from radio station KGO-ABC in San Francisco. Nixon speaks on U.S. policies in Vietnam, the U.S. economy, and forced integration of suburban housing. In 1872, Victoria C. Woodhull (1838-1927) became the first woman to run for President of the United States. On this Election Day, exactly 100 years later, Jan Legnitto, Ruth Rosen and Isabel Welsh explore the personality of the most notorious woman of the late 1800s, with excerpts from Woodhuff's writings on feminism, free love and birth control.
