Vernon, director of Soviet-American dialogue, explains how she has taken over 1,000 Americans to the Soviet Union in 31 trips. She discusses how the negative stereotypes in United States media quickly evaporate when Americans meet Russians face to face. She and her assistant, Chuck Wilhelm, also discuss preparations and prospects for such important meetings.

Dr. Cohen, author and founder of Expedition Institute of the Audubon Society, and Chair of Integrated Ecology at the World Peace University, argues that nature has a language. He left New York city to live for 20 years in a tent, close to nature, in order to get beyond words and the urban reality.

La Voz del Indio : Jose Isabel Rojas Ortiz / interviewed and produced by Sue Supriano.

Ortiz, one of 25,000 indigenous people in Costa Rica (of the BriBri) and president of La Voz del Indio, discusses that organization. Lead by traditional spiritual peoples, they bring together the different groups to spread the word about human rights abuses in Costa Rica. He discusses how the abuses are manifested, and how indigenous people become foreigners in their own land.
