National march on Washington for lesbian and gay rights (ACTUALITIES)

On October 14, 1979, ten years after the Stonewall riots, more than 100,000 people from the United States and ten other countries marched on Washington, D.C. for lesbian and gay rights. Pacifica producers in Washington recorded speeches and actualities from the rally, and parts were broadcast live.

Maximumrocknroll (Series record)

Continuing program of punk and new wave music with interviews of the performers. Hosted by Tim Yohannan, Eve Buckner, Al Ennis, Ruth Schwartz, Jello Biafra, Jeff Bale, Ray Farrell, and Johnny Myers. There are 61 reels of tapes for this program in the Archives. The show may have continued after this, but the digitized KPFA Folios only go to December 1988.

The first of two programs presenting the history of the San Francisco Mime Troupe during its first ten years. The programs document the new publication on the troupe's history by its founder, R.G. Davis. The first program deals with the transition from the S.F. Actors Workshop and the radicalization of the troupe through their confrontation with the Park and Recreation Commission.
