(17 Minutes) Gary Graham Execution The planned execution of Gary Graham was stayed in the eleventh hour by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. Graham learned of the stay 24 hours before he was to be killed. Graham's case has renewd debate around the question of the execution of innocent people in the US, something which becomes increasingly likely as more and more people are sentenced to death, and politicians and courts limit the appeals process for death row prisoners. Just a few years ago, the Attorney General of Texas argued before the Supreme Court that it is constitutional to execute a person, even if there is irrefutable eidence of his or her innocence, as long as they had a fair trial.
