Black Awareness was a “Perspective” or "Commentary" series which aired on WBAI in New York in the early 1970s. The purpose of this series was to “enlighten, educate, inform, and even outrage the listening public by exposing the myths and lies that this country has invented to justify its oppression of African Americans.” First advertised in the WBAI Folio to be broadcast on May 22, 1970; broadcast through 1971 and 1972, to at least August 24, 1973. Hosted and produced by Deloris Costello.
