(33 Minutes) Activists Plan to Sue Chevron Lawyers for Nigerian Himan rights activists are preparing to file a lawsuit in the US afainst Chevron Corporation, alleging that the US oil giant was complicit in the deaths of two protesters who were killed on a Cheron oil barge in the Niger Delta in May. The possible lawsuit follow Democracy Now's expose of Chevron's role in facilitating the killings which were carried out by the feared Nigerian Navy and the notorious Mobile Police. GUEST: Oronto Douglas, is an environmental lawyer from the Niger Delta and o-founder of the Chicoco Movement, a pan-Niger Delta resistance movement. Next Monday, PBS kicks off a series of four programs documenting the history of slavery in AMerica. The series was filmed across twelve states and three continents and traces US history from the nation's early days as a British settlement to the start of the Civil War and then to the present day.
