African Americans compose 14% of the American population, but some studies indicate that African americans account for as many as 73% of all routine stops by traffic officers. This constitutes a perpetual assault on the dignity of law abiding citizens. And by extrapolation, this ratio vividly suggests why, inordinately, it is black men who become entangled in the criminal justice system.
