The play consists of five thematically related dreams, each one occuring on a different continent. Dream 1 (Germany) is about a family incarcerated in a rolling boxcar for 40 years, only to reject the world outside when offered. Dream 2 (China) a young boy is sacrificed to restore the health of an old man. Dream 3 (Sustralia) fearful neighbors drive a young family out of town for being happy. Dream 4 (Africa) two young men on safari become disoriented by the jungle and lose all sense of purpose. Dream 5 (America) amid prosperity a young American couple discover that they are being hollowed out from within. - RECORDED: 1990.
