Description:

An interview about Vietnam and its legacy, veterans and the veteran's organization, Swords into Plowshares.|VIETNAM VETERANS / produced by Lili Francklyn. - SERIES: KPFA Thirty Year Retrospective, 1965. - Like many of its veterans, the Vietnam war has faded from the public consciousness. Except for its award winning Hollywood resurrections, the agony of experience in Vietnam and the return home is quietly born by those who were there. Out of the public eye, many suffer from unemployability, chemical poisoning, and tremedous psychological problems - not to mention the ones that are maimed for life. In response to these conditions, veteranms self help organizations have sprung up across the country. The following interview is about one of them (Swords into Plowshares), fighting in vietnam, and its legacy. BROADCAST: KPFA, March 1979.
