Gray, Jesse
Jesse Gray was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but gained a reputation for organizing tenants for protesting slum conditions in Harlem, the most famous of which involved residents of the worst buildings in Harlem bringing living and dead rats to a hearing in City Court.
