Performance by Brazilian composer and percussionist Naná Vasconcelos (1944-) playing the berimbau, an instrument of African origin, for WBAI's Free Music Store in 1972. In addition to leading his own bands, Vasconcelos has played with Jon Hassell, Pat Metheny, Jan Garbarek, Don Cherry, and Egberto Gismonti, among others. Naná is introduced by WBAI's Barbara Oka.
