Description:

Dr. Timothy Leary calls into WBAI-FM from La Madrague, Algeria, where he was living in exile with his wife Rosemary Leary in 1970. He acknowledges that his escape from prison and the United States was organized by the Weather Underground and that he is now hiding in Algiers thanks to the assistance of Eldridge Cleaver and the Black Panthers. Leary urges listeners to refuse cooperation with the police or the United States judicial system. Rosemary Leary offers a brief statement at the end of the recording. The tape was brought back to the US by Jennifer Dohrn of the Weather Underground.
