This program of music from the Congo includes chants which depict a scene of justice between a son-in-law and his parents-in-law; The festival of the crab, "Guardian of the Water"; A tribal ceremony of the famous and the rich making themselves known to the people; a witch doctor exorting the people to dance to cure an illness; and others that tell of the Congolese daily lives, their pleasures, and the people they know. Some are done in chant alone; others are accompanied by marimba, kalimba, and drums.
