Stern on Iraqi Sanctions President Clinton yesterday accepted Iraqi's promise to allow weapons inspections to resume, but warned Baghdad that the u.S. remains poised to attack weapons facilities if Iraq refused to cooperate once more. GUEST: Denis Halliday, former Diputy Secretary General of the United Nations and former head of the Oil for Food Program, resighned one month ago in protest of how economic sanctions are affecting the Iraqi population, especially children. Former Black Panther, SNCC Chair Kwame Ture Dies Focus on Kwame Ture, known to many Americans as Stokely Carmichael, died yesterday in Conakry, Guinea. A look at his life. California University Workers Hold Hunger Strike After a 3 1/2 year struggle over union contracts, Food Service and Housing workers at the University of Southern California today are expected to begin a water-only fast. GUEST: Rev. James Lawson, Pastor at Holman United Methodist Church in South Central LA since 1974. GUEST: Maria Elena Durazo, President of Local 11 since 1989 and one of the organizers of the protest. GUEST: Paula Ortega, worked in food service at USC for 6 years and was a student at the university. She was arrested for civil disobedience during USC's graduation. She was fasting at the time.
