School Of Assassins / Ray Bourgeois| interviewed and produced by Pamela Burton. - Speech by Roy Bourgeois, ordained Priest in the Maryknoll order who was sent to La Paz, Bolivia to work with the poor. This experience transformed him, Bourgeois recounts, into a supported of Liberation Theology. His action lead to his eventual arrest and deportation to the United States. He goes on to recount the effects of Oscar Romero's assassination, United States policies toward El Salvador, and his hunger fast in protest of U.S. actions. Bourgeois then traces the history of the School of Americas, which was organized in Panama in 1949 and moved to Georgia in 1984. This combat school teaches counterinsurgency, snyper courses, interogation psychology, and more methods of civilian terror. Recently the role of this school has become public knowledge, and efforts within the government are underway to eliminate itw funding. Concludes with a question and answer session.
