Speech By Ray Bonner| Produced by Scott Harris| March 25, 1984. - CONTENT: Speech by Ray Bonner, topic was "What is happening in El Salvador and Why?", produced by Scott Harris at Station WPKN in Bridgeport, CN and sponsored by Jean Donovan Memorial Committee in cooperation with the Interreligious Task Force in New York City. Bonner began his speech with a description of a mass held at the Basilica in El Salvador by Archibishop Romero on March 25, 1980. Romero disapproved of the occupation of the Catherdral and made an appeal in a special way to the army, the National Guard, and the police to the effect that they are killing their own men and he begged them in the name of God to stop the oppression. Romero was killed the next day. Bonner asserts that the Salvadoran military is an institution to be dealt with as a social, economic and political force. The speech is followed by a question and answer session. - Broadcast March 24, 1984.
