This is a recording of a talk given by Dr. Lola McAlpin-Grant, former assistant Dean of Loyola Law School. She reconstructs the history of denied birth rights for African Americans since the days of slavery. Because Black women have had to struggle for equality along with other minorities, there has only been a small portion of the pie made available. In areas of housing, education and jobs, Black women are a long way from equality, and even the small gains are being greeted with a backlash. RECORDED: California State University, Northridge, 197-?
