The objective is to sell "true faith" to help Salvadoreans overcome superstition--in other words, to make them European. In 1974 Sabrino awakened to the ethnocentric nature of this approach. He states that we cannot become radical without compassion, and the reality of Salvador is human suffering (32 min.) -- r.2.
