This edition of From The Vault presents highlights from the 2009 Pacifica Radio Archives Campus Campaign:
— The Women’s History Hour with Brian DeShazor and Susan Rubin from the Feminist Majority plays recordings of Emma Goldman, Bella Abzug, Betty Friedan, Dolores Huerta, Maya Angelou singing Phenomenal Woman, and others.
– Senior Producer Mark Torres and Professor Dionne Espinoza present selections from the Chicano/Latin American History Hour, which includes Elizabeth “Betita†Martinez, author of 500 Years of Chicano/a History in Pictures,†and Victor Villasenor author of Macho and Rein of Gold.
– Archives Director Brian DeShazor and entertainer Rosanne Barr cue up Studs Terkel and Martin Luther King, Jr. at the bedside of an ill Mahalia Jackson, and special guest K.B Soloman singing Paul Robeson.
