Simone de Beauvoir (b.1908- d.1986) French writer, intellectual, political activist, and feminist is interviewed by Studs Terkel in 1960. For 1977 broadcast, narrator Janet Dodson reads excerpts from de Beauvoir's books, Memoirs of a Dutiful Daughter, Prime of Life, All Said and Done and The Second Sex.
