Screen actors stand up for Jane Fonda : a speech by Kathleen Nolan

On July 20, 1979, the California State Senate overwhelmingly rejected the appointment of Jane Fonda to the California Arts Council. The Screen Actors Guild's Hollywood Branch was outraged and passed a resolution calling for the censure of the 28 members of the California Senate who blocked Fonda's appointment.
