This is a recording of the speeches given at a rally of 35,000 people at the Republican National Convention in San Francisco, July 12, 1964. The day before the opening of the Republican National Convention, 35,000 people marched up Market Street in San Francisco and held a mass rally in Civic Center.

Rachel Carson : a memorial appreciation

A memorial program for biologist Rachel Carson (1907 - 1964), author of "Silent spring," "The sea around us," "Under the sea wind," and other books. Louis Lomax in San Francisco

Reverend Wyatt T. Walker

This is a three-part program on Administrative director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Reverend Walker during his Civil Rights activism. On Saturday, May 25, 1963 Walker spoke at a series of meetings in the Bay Area, sponsored jointly by the California Democratic Council, Committee Of Racial Equality, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
