Specific discussion focuses on the scientists who gathered at Trinity, for the first experiemental explosion of an atomic bomb that took place in Alamagordo, New Mexico. "Possibly the most misdirected gathering of genius in the history of human intelligence." Documentary describes how Nazi Germany was percieved as an immediate threat by most Americans. Includes description of some of the individuals who worked on the bomb, and the creation of the desert New Mexico town, and the aftermath and fallout of the bomb's testing and explosions. - Broadcast date not known.
