About face : odyssey of an American warrior / David Hackworth ; interviewed by Ian Masters.

Colonel David Hacworth, author of About Face: Odyssey of an American Warrior, traces how he has changed from a cold warrior into a disarmament activist. Wounded 8 times serving the United States since 1946, he argues that we now need to disarm, but do so logically. The Cold War is over because the two superpowers went bankrupt, he reasons, so we now must change swords into plowshares. Current military spending is misguided and duplicates effort, pointing to Eisenhower’s warning of a growing military-industrial complex. There is now a need for more public oversight in military spending.|ABOUT FACE : ODYSSEY OF AN AMERICAN WARRIOR / David Hackworth| interviewed by Ian Masters.
