The series was introduced in the June 1972 KPFA folio: “We’re starting and important new series with on-the-air Consciousness-Raising…CR groups are central to the Women’s Movement, but many women are unable to join because of isolation of one sort or another. We hope to partially overcome this by broadcasting a CR group, and then establishing a dialogue through listener call-ins.
