Documentary on the buildup and violent riot of prison inmates at Attica, New York. The violence at Attica Prison, September 13, 1971, when law enforcement officials used force to quell a prisoners’ rebellion, resulted in the deaths of 42 persons. This documentary explores those events and the history behind them. It includes statements by prison officials and critics of the administration; discrepancies between the official version of how the hostages died, and the report of the coroner.
