Portia Shapiro of KPFA talks with Louise Alaimo about “The Woman’s Film,” an exploration by members of San Francisco Newsreel of the economic and psychological oppression of poor women. This program includes excerpts from the soundtrack of “The Woman’s Film,” which illustrate these women’s feelings about their oppression and the consciousness of women’s liberation that they begin to develop.
