Description:

This is the second part of the first installment of the documentary series on the police violence in and around the El Pueblo housing project near Pittsburg, California in April 1968. This reel opens with an in-studio interview with five eyewitness accounts of El Pueblo residents, then continues with a police tape given to KPFA by Undersheriff Ramsey, consisting of excerpts taken from a 24-hour tape made by the Pittsburg Police Department on April 16, 1968. The police tape recording has poor quality and was not further edited before broadcast. The program is narrated by Denny Smithson of KPFA's Public Affairs department. This is part two, but the very end of the reel includes the introduction to part three.
