The Population explosion / Paul Ehrlich.
Paul Ehrlich updates the predictions he made in his 1965 book The Population Bomb, and points out some pleasant suprises. He argues against misconceptions that the wrong people are having children, for he now thinks we need more human minds to solve the worlds problems. The world, he continues, must achieve a more balanced standard of living. The First World must curtail its overconsumption habits which pollute. The attempts by Third World countries, such as India and China, to bring technology to their people (such as refrigeratros) is doomed to failure, for they do not have clean sources of energy to support the new demands on power. It is up to the First World to develop the new, clean technologies for power generation.|THE POPULATION EXPLOSION / Paul Ehrlich. - Paul Ehrlich updates the predicitons he made in his 1965 book "The Population Bomb," and points out some pleasant suprises.
