Description:
Women Against Violence in Pornography & Media (WAVPM), a feminist group formed in 1977, organized the Feminist Perspective on Pornography Conference in San Francisco in November 1978. At the conclusion of this conference, organizers and attendees staged the first Take Back The Night march, protesting rape and the violent use of female images in the media. Andrea Dworkin roused the audience in this pre-march rally in which she states "to be dissolved by any means necessary is the role of women in pornography." Needs intro. Fade out applause at end. This is a slightly edited version of the same speech by Dworkin featured on AZ1145.
