Description:
Amalia Fleming (Lady Fleming) speaks on the situation in Greece under the General's right wing junta--a speech given before the Women's National Democratic Club in Washington, D.C. Lady Fleming was exiled from Greece and stripped of her Greek citizenship due to her political activities against the junta, and is the author of "A piece of truth," a personal account of her imprisonment. She is introduced by Congressman John Brademas (D-IN).
pbcoreAnnotation:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalia_Fleming
Brademas, on the recording, says "she comes to us just five years next month after the death of democracy in Greece" - the right-wing junta in Greece happened in April 1967 so I'm dating this speech to March 1972.

Hiss.
March 1st of this year, Lady Fleming spoke to the Democratic Women's Club here in Washington on her experiences in Greece. Produced for Pacifica radio in Washington by David Selvin. Speech ends abruptly, but appears to be deliberate on the part of the producer, probably cut for time.
