The end of the Soledad Brothers trial
Documentary on the trial and verdict of the two surviving Soledad brothers. John Clutchette and Fleeta Drumgo, the two surviving Soledad Brothers (George Jackson was killed at San Quentin in August, 1971), were found not guilty on March 27, 1972. Clutchette and Drumgo were on trial for an assault and murder of a Soledad prison guard. The program includes a retrospective documentary of the trial, the circumstances behind the trial, and the political implications for all concerned. The piece opens with a quote from Judge S.
