Description:
A woman's voice - Features poetry written and read by producer/poet Clara Kern. Broadcast July 1982. (Previously titled "A woman's voice: Circa 40s" with the note: "Circa 40s" meaning the impact of sexual attitudes of the 1940s upon women," however this program doesn't seem to relate to this topic. Probably mislabeled.)

Audio file QC (Pass One) notes:
Distortion, hum, hiss. Some slight pitch variation towards end of recording. This is an episode of A Woman's Place. Opens with music that she keeps talking over. Waterfall by Cris Williamson. The song ends, and she starts the record over again from the beginning, then fades out. Lots of musical interludes. Intro: There's an unspoken assumption reflected in the bulk of literature that major art is written by and about men. As one critic said, "Women can't write good poetry, because they don't grow up." Meaning, I suppose, that they don't grow up to be men. Women continue to challenge the idea that their experiences are not worthy of serious consideration and that their life activities are best chronicled by men. During the next hour, you will hear social commentary in poetry form, written by a woman from a woman's experiences. Outro: You've been listening to poems from a woman's experience, written during the past ten years. All poems are under the copyright of Clara Kern." Should Poems From A Woman's Experience be the title maybe?
