50th Anniversary of the Murder of Medgar Evers

Medgar Evers, a civil rights activist from Mississippi involved in efforts to overturn segregation at the University of Mississippi, was gunned down in his driveway 50 years ago this month. Pacifica Radio’s Dale Minor produced a captivating documentary from field recordings made in Jackson, Mississippi in June, 1963. Included in “Where Do We Go from Here” are selections from the funeral of Medgar Evers, the mourning procession which followed, and the angry demonstrations and near-riot that ensued after the procession.
