Description:

This week on From the Vault we celebrate the legacy of humanitarian and boxing great Muhammad Ali by highlighting selections from a new collection from Pacifica Radio Archives featuring Ali in conversation with Julius Lester (1968), Ali and Joe Frazier talking shop the night before the "Fight of the Century" at Madison Square Garden (1971), original music, and a speech Ali gave to UCLA students in 1968 amidst campus-wide protests.

From the Vault is presented as part of the Pacifica Radio Archives Preservation and Access Project, funded in part by an award from the GRAMMY Foundation and the National Historical Publications and Records Commission at the National Archives and Records Administration, and past grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ford Foundation, and the American Archive funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, along with the generous support of Pacifica Radio Listeners.
