Welcome
The Pacifica Radio Archives is pleased to announce that the GRAMMY Foundation has awarded PRA a $10,000 Preservation Implementation Grant to preserve over 70 hours of historic audio produced by Pacifica station WBAI-FM, New York City. Two significant series of tapes will be preserved: concerts from the Free Music Store, a series of live and free concerts presenting an eclectic range of musicians and performers from Phil Ochs to the Aeolian Chamber Players to Naná Vasconcelos; and the Mind's Eye Theatre, which produced radio plays created by premier artists and technicians, with texts created by both well known authors and selected from submissions by WBAI listeners. For more information about the grant, the full GRAMMY Foundation press release is available here.
